Funny stuff: So we told Taylor last Monday evening about little Sarah. The next morning on our way to Portland to meet with our social worker he tells us that he had a dream last night. He said:
Taylor - Mom dad I had a dream!
Us - Yeah buddy (eating not paying much attention; it was early)
Taylor - Mom you and me were picking up Sarah in China and we flew on a plane and I was playing with her and we went fun places and then dad was there too and we flew home in a big airplane! It was really fun mom.
Thank you Lord for giving him that dream!
Referral Acceptance from the CCAA
The Referral Acceptance (RA) is the CCAA’s final approval of your family to adopt the child you have requested. Once the CCAA receives your electronic acceptance, you will receive your RA in roughly 2-5 months. Once we receive your family’s RA, we will overnight the document to you to be signed and dated. We will let you know when the RA is due back in our office. Typically, there is a quick turn around time required because your family’s Travel Approval (discussed below) cannot be processed until we return the RA to the CCAA. Please note that the America World final program fee is due when you return your signed RA.
Travel Approval from the CCAA
The estimated timeframe to receive a Travel Approval (TA) from when the CCAA receives the signed Referral Acceptance is approximately 2-6 weeks. You will be receiving a Travel Mailing in a month or so, so please read through the information and fax back the necessary travel documents to the Travel Coordinators. That way everything we need is on file when your TA arrives. Once your TA arrives, you will be contacted with the good news and could be off to China within several days or weeks depending on when the next travel group is leaving.
Important Note on RA and TA processing timeframes
While the information in this email provides you with general timeframes that are based upon current trends, we cannot guarantee when you will receive your RA or TA and the CCAA reserves the right to process these documents in the order that they choose. The CCAA does not notify agencies regarding a specific family’s status or when they plan to send the RA or TA for a family. We are unable to inquire on the status of your RA or TA with the CCAA, unless there is reason to believe there may be an issue causing a delay. We do, however, send information to our China Liaison when your family's acceptance is submitted to ensure that the CCAA is aware of your intent to adopt a particular child. Through this avenue, our Liaison is able to follow up with the CCAA, making sure that your Dossier is being processed through the special needs process.
